ABOUT ME

I am a soon to be alumnus from Humber Polytechnic's journalism program. Before enrolling at Humber I was a music student at York University studying vocal jazz. My past program has given me the skills and knowledge I needed to excel at being Humber Et Cetera's music journalist.

I also had the honour of leading Scribe Magazine 2025 as its editor-in-chief. There I gained leadership and problem solving skills related to editorial, print and online. I guided the overall tone of the magazine and oversaw and managed all aspects. All of this I achieved whilst participating as a contributing writer.

Dating apps are gaining popularity among Gen Z singles. From success stories to tips, digital love can get complicated. From ghosting to heartbreaks to married life, here's what to expect when you put your heart on the line online.

Even though I frequently cover arts and culture, lifestyle, world issues and the beauty. I am not limited to it. I also dabble in politics!

During the 2025 provincial election I reported on the scene for Humber Et Cetera television. I interviewed Ontario Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner and his supporters. During the 2025 federal election I hosted on Radio Humber and shared information on the local ridings.

I am also currently the opinion and editorial editor of Humber Et Cetera and student run online publication and print newspaper. Here I manage all pitches, stories and skeds pertaining to the opinion section between reporters, senior reporters and editors. I approve all final opinion and editorial InDesign layouts and assist packaging and preparing the publication for print.

Here are some Humber Et Cetera stories that I managed and designed. Some stories included are my own editorial on how certain institutions prevent reconciliation and an introspective piece on rare death anxiety as a young person.

I am currently the online managing editor and art assistant of Convergence Magazine 2025, a media centered magazine that addresses growing concerns within the press. I wanted to challenge myself this year by taking on role outside of my comfort zone... little did I know I would grow to love both art and online aspect of magazine while enhancing my InDesign and coding proficiency. I am always interested in leveraging my abilities as well as gaining new skills! I like to say a curious journalist is best journalist, because we never know all there is to know.

EDITORIAL: Preaching forgiveness yet denying reconciliation

Sept. 30 is Orange Shirt Day. It is often commemorated through the raising of the survivor flag and the Walk for Reconciliation. However, the removal of these makes achieving reconciliation more distant than we ever thought.

I am a mixed person who looks like the "model minority" but growing up disconnected from my culture made me question my identity. My internal conflict doesn't make me any less Asian.
